Stormy Weather Headed Our Way!
I'm sure as most of you know, we are in the path of some stormy weather late this afternoon into this evening. Be sure to keep plenty of shelter for your outdoor pets, and be ready to comfort your indoor pets if they are frightened by storms. It's a good time to grab a blanket, rent some movies and cuddle up on the couch and eat some popcorn, and of course give your pets a few treats as well. ;)

Snuggles Fund saves neighbor dog!
We wanted to share this heartwarming story of this friendly, neighborhood dog named Dodge!!! Dodge is a 11 month old Lab mix. He was brought in earlier in the week very sick by one of our clients. They weren't his owners but they were one of the many neighbors that were very fond of the dog and loved having him around. They took it upon themselves to go around the neighborhood and ended up raising $211 to bring the dog into the clinic since his owners did not have the money to care for him. After running blood work and administering iv fluids, he was a little better the next morning but still very sick. Dr. Cranfill diagnosed Dodge with distemper. Canine distemper is a highly contagious and sometimes fatal disease that is seen in dogs worldwide. Though its incidence has diminished greatly due to vaccination, distemper cases and outbreaks are still seen sporadically. Given Dodge's condition we needed to continue medical treatment or he would not survive. With the owner's not having any money to take care of him and the neighbors doing all they could do we felt like the Snuggles Fund would be a great source to help fund the medical treatment needed to save Dodge's life. He went home yesterday and is feeling much better! This is a great example how people can come together to make a difference!!

Remember and Honor Beloved Pets and People while Helping Animals in Need!
The Snuggles Park Memorial Fund to help animals was established at All Creatures by Snuggles’ family to help fund care and treatment for pets whose owners cannot pay full costs. (See blog post from Nov. 21, 2013, for Jasper’s story and how Snuggles Fund helped him and his family.)
The Parks have now purchased from ImageNThings in Mountain Home this beautiful plaque, which is hanging at All Creatures. For a $200.00 contribution, donors can have a 1½” by 3¾” plate engraved to publicly remember a deceased pet or person or honor a living pet or person.
All proceeds go directly to Snuggles Park Memorial Fund to Help Animals in Need.
